postgresql-pgpool-II - Pgpool is a connection pooling/replication server for PostgreSQL
pgpool-II is a inherited project of pgpool (to classify from
pgpool-II, it is sometimes called as pgpool-I). For those of
you not familiar with pgpool-I, it is a multi-functional
middle ware for PostgreSQL that features connection pooling,
replication and load balancing functions. pgpool-I allows a
user to connect at most two PostgreSQL servers for higher
availability or for higher search performance compared to a
single PostgreSQL server.
pgpool-II, on the other hand, allows multiple PostgreSQL
servers (DB nodes) to be connected, which enables queries
to be executed simultaneously on all servers. In other words,
it enables "parallel query" processing. Also, pgpool-II can
be started as pgpool-I by changing configuration parameters.
pgpool-II that is executed in pgpool-I mode enables multiple
DB nodes to be connected, which was not possible in pgpool-I.

munin - Network-wide graphing framework (grapher/gatherer)
Munin is a highly flexible and powerful solution used to create graphs of
virtually everything imaginable throughout your network, while still
maintaining a rattling ease of installation and configuration.
This package contains the grapher/gatherer. You will only need one instance of
it in your network. It will periodically poll all the nodes in your network
it's aware of for data, which it in turn will use to create graphs and HTML
pages, suitable for viewing with your graphical web browser of choice.
Munin is written in Perl, and relies heavily on Tobi Oetiker's excellent

rdiff-backup - Convenient and transparent local/remote incremental mirror/backup
rdiff-backup is a script, written in Python, that backs up one
directory to another and is intended to be run periodically (nightly
from cron for instance). The target directory ends up a copy of the
source directory, but extra reverse diffs are stored in the target
directory, so you can still recover files lost some time ago. The idea
is to combine the best features of a mirror and an incremental
backup. rdiff-backup can also operate in a bandwidth efficient manner
over a pipe, like rsync. Thus you can use rdiff-backup and ssh to
securely back a hard drive up to a remote location, and only the
differences from the previous backup will be transmitted.

python-paver - Python-based build/distribution/deployment scripting tool
Paver is a Python-based build/distribution/deployment scripting tool along the
lines of Make or Rake. What makes Paver unique is its integration with commonly
used Python libraries. Common tasks that were easy before remain easy. More
importantly, dealing with your applications specific needs and requirements is
now much easier.
* Build files are just Python
* One file with one syntax, pavement.py, knows how to manage your project
* File operations are unbelievably easy, thanks to the built-in version of
Jason Orendorff’s path.py.
* Need to do something that takes 5 lines of code? It’ll only take 5 lines of
code..
* Completely encompasses distutils and setuptools so that you can customize
behavior as you need to.
* Wraps Sphinx for generating documentation, and adds utilities that make it
easier to incorporate fully tested sample code.
* Wraps Subversion for working with code that is checked out.
* Wraps virtualenv to allow you to trivially create a bootstrap script that
gets a virtual environment up and running. This is a great way to install
packages into a contained environment.
* Can use all of these other libraries, but requires none of them
* Easily transition from setup.py without making your users learn about or
even install Paver! (See the Getting Started Guide for an example).

xwrits - Reminds you take wrist breaks
Xwrits reminds you to take wrist breaks, which
should help you prevent or manage a repetitive
stress injury. It pops up an X window when you
should rest; you click on that window, then take a
break.
Xwrits's graphics are brightly colored pictures of
a wrist and the attached hand. The wrist clenches
and stretches ``as if in pain'' when you should
rest, slumps relaxed during the break, and points
forward valiantly when the break is over. It is
trapped behind bars while the keyboard is locked.
Other gestures are included.
Extensive command line options let you control how
often xwrits appears. It can escalate its behavior
over time -- by putting up more flashing windows
or actually locking you out of the keyboard, for
example -- which makes it harder to cheat.

yp-tools - NIS (or YP) client programs.
The Network Information Service (NIS) is a system which provides
network information (login names, passwords, home directories, group
information) to all of the machines on a network. NIS can enable
users to login on any machine on the network, as long as the machine
has the NIS client programs running and the user's password is
recorded in the NIS passwd database. NIS was formerly known as Sun
Yellow Pages (YP).
This package's NIS implementation is based on FreeBSD's YP and is a
special port for glibc 2.x and libc versions 5.4.21 and later. This
package only provides the NIS client programs. In order to use the
clients, you'll need to already have an NIS server running on your
network. An NIS server is provided in the ypserv package.
Install the yp-tools package if you need NIS client programs for machines
on your network. You will also need to install the ypbind package on
every machine running NIS client programs. If you need an NIS server,
you'll need to install the ypserv package on one machine on the network.

zabbix - Open-source monitoring solution for your IT infrastructure
ZABBIX is software that monitors numerous parameters of a
network and the health and integrity of servers. ZABBIX
uses a flexible notification mechanism that allows users
to configure e-mail based alerts for virtually any event.
This allows a fast reaction to server problems. ZABBIX
offers excellent reporting and data visualisation features
based on the stored data. This makes ZABBIX ideal for
capacity planning.
ZABBIX supports both polling and trapping. All ZABBIX
reports and statistics, as well as configuration
parameters are accessed through a web-based front end. A
web-based front end ensures that the status of your network
and the health of your servers can be assessed from any
location. Properly configured, ZABBIX can play an important
role in monitoring IT infrastructure. This is equally true
for small organisations with a few servers and for large
companies with a multitude of servers.

boost - The Boost C++ Libraries
Boost provides free peer-reviewed portable C++ source libraries. The
emphasis is on libraries which work well with the C++ Standard
Library, in the hopes of establishing "existing practice" for
extensions and providing reference implementations so that the Boost
libraries are suitable for eventual standardization. (Some of the
libraries have already been proposed for inclusion in the C++
Standards Committee's upcoming C++ Standard Library Technical Report.)

opencdk - Provides basic parts of the OpenPGP message format
This library provides basic parts of the OpenPGP message format. For
reference, please read RFC2440. Due to some possible security problems,
the library also implements parts of draft-ietf-openpgp-rfc2440bis-06.txt.
The aim of the library is *not* to replace any available OpenPGP version.
There will be no real support for key management (sign, revoke, alter
preferences, ...) and some other parts are only rudimentary available. The
main purpose is to handle and understand OpenPGP packets and to use basic
operations. For example to encrypt/decrypt or to sign/verify and packet
routines.
